Science venture camp last day

Poolside at Claire's

summer 2012

Oh my, summer is almost over.. For Finn it has been more of the same.. playing with Evie.. getting excited about starting half days at preschool.  For Zoe, it was one month of camps..with her two best friends, Asha and Claire...

first Vikes Camp.. a sport camp at UVic.. we will never do that again.. it was all about keeping them running and not doing what they wanted.. the second day I sent Zoe with paper and crayons.. because they did not provide anything for down time.. talk about a camp who does not know its campers.. but it was all better after that.

next they did Science Venture Camp at UVic.. and loved every minute of it.. they studied things like the brain, the weather, the ocean... lots of variety.  As Zoe walks on campus, she still has fond memories of playing tag, etc.  As we would pick up the girls everyday, Claire would chant: "Can we have a play date? Can we?"... some how 9am-4pm was not enough... we met for dinner once a week.. it was lovely to be around friend and in the summer

Then they did Survivor Camp at Saint Michaels ( a college prep private school).. they enjoyed that as well
then another week at Science Venture

Friday, at the end of all these camps  Zoe, Claire and Asha had their first slumber party... The girls loved it. I can't say I took many photos during the sleep over.. I was working a bit.. the girls loved it.. did really well. didn't fall asleep until 10.. Asha and Claire were up at 6:30.. Zoe at 8.

Then we had a block party in our neighborhood.. a bouncy castle, grilling.. it was fun..

The next day, we took off to SLC.  It was a good flight.. wonderful to be around family... had our fair share of drama.. it was good to see Rachelle (whom we hadn't seen in almost 3 years).. we didn't get to see Paizlee however.. next time.  Amy's wedding was intimate and beautiful.. she has a great new family.  Holly announced out she is pregnant... a new baby cousin due in March.  Then we went camping.. tried to go to Trial Lake, but it did not accomodate Nana and Grandpa's land yacht... ended up at Lake Washington... too bad the city had taken all the water.. I'm sure its gorgeous when its full.  It took a bit to settle into ... times have changed... the occasional generator from people watching tv was unsettling.. but in the end.. it was great to be around Carrie, Quinn (16 months), Kaia (great dane), Rebecca, my mom and dad and the 4 of us.  We spent one beautiful day at Mirror Lake... next time I want to stay there... Zoe wasn't feeling well from the start.. spent the whole afternoon lying down.. until I got enough medicine in her... then she was learning to cast the fishing pole.. of coure the only time we go close to a fish was when they dump hundreds of them in the lake... we never caught anything.. next time.  I went to all of this with a cold.. and 2 nights in my ear drum burst.. and I decided I couldn't take it any more.. time to see a doctor.  We drove the 2 hours into Kaysville and went to Tanner Clinic.. turns our Zoe had a double ear infection and I got some antibiodics for my cold too and some predzone to try to reduce the swelling in my throat.  I'm still dealing with the ear thing.. they said 2 weeks to a month for it to go away. ugh!  now I know why they put tubes in kids ears... I'm almost there.

We now have 2 more weeks of summer vacation... the kids are with the Frosts.. the girls are doing gynmasitcs camp...  We are waiting to drop the PencilFX app... (I'll post pics soon)... and working on ComicTycoon... Life is good

Zoe is anxious to start school again and Finn will start at Arbutus Grove... Sept 4th!
