crayons and paper..

so we were prepping for our christmas party, and Zoe was opening drawers, and found our stash of paper and crayons... she quietly got them out, and started coloring.. she was entertained for about 15 minutes or more... (I asked Anna if this is something they do, she said no; I had never showed Zoe where that stuff was).

update...cold passing,

Zoe and I survived her first cold.. we had three terrible nights.. one I remember waking Bruce up with the phrase "I can't take it anymore, you take her".. she was crying, kicking, screaming, it was 2am, we hadn't slept, I couldn't calm her down. Bruce took her, she cried for 5 more minutes, he handed her back, she and I slept like logs until 6am, she nursed, we slept until 9am.. ah... the fever broke.

now she is just a bit congested, and coughs; strangely she is not very snotty, not like me (I'm so congested)...

fever...

Now we know what it means to have a sick baby.. Zoe's "first cold" was nothing. She is now (and has been for 36 hours) running a fever around 102 (ear).. they say when it gets to 104, then worry. It is hard not to worry all the time.. she is so very, very warm. Now it is in her sinuses, and she has this squeaky (oh so cute and painful) voice, and she is tired, all the time. We (she and I) haven't really slept for two nights.. I think we finally got 4 hours in row around 4am this morning. She stayed with the nanny today and got a proper nap (yeah!) Now as we get ready for dinner.. she is finally playing with her toys (the barn set from Nana and Grandpa).

The cold is either a reaction to the 5 (!) shots she got last Friday (part of her 1 year boosters), which included a flu shot, or something she got playing there and her immune system would normally handle, but didn't now due to the shots.
