Zoe's theory on aging

Zoe since she could talk, has had a theory that as she gets older, we adults get younger. She'll say "when you are my age, you can wear this"... or "when you are as tall a me, you'll need this..." It is just built into the way she thinks.. and I love it!

This weekend... islands, apples, fairies...

We finally, finally have summer... I know, Mikah and Tice and family wish for not the kind of summer they had,... we too, but on the other side of the thermometer... we had two solid weeks of highs of 50s and 60s and overcast and rain... we were wearing polar fleece and I wore boots to school one day because I was so frozen in my house. we've been swimming indoors, too cold to be outside.

However, today hit 70, it is lovely.. we enjoyed some time with a friend of ours from UBC with her 2 year old (and tribulations of our lazy butts not moving fast enough for her Israeli hustle and bustle... please note when you stay with us, it takes HOURS to get us out of the house and we need a plan if you have a schedule we don't know about)...

ah well... everyone but me is napping, I was set to work on my app, but instead am doing email...

We did a lot this weekend with our guest.. .Salt Spring Island.. cheese tasting (goat cheese!); today Thetis lake for swim and sun, then the Merridale Cider bistro for a long and exasperating wait for delicious food.. at least the kids had fun in the orchards and looking for fairies (pics to come)...

love to you all... and really looking forward to showing Mom and Dad all the new things we've seen... playing tourist in your own town can be fun!

Zoe at school

Zoe is still at preschool, until the end of July, for a summer
program, less kids, more outside time with the added bonus of water,
bubbles, etc. Zoe loves that she gets to bring her swimsuit to
school. She has been coming home quite tired. When we switched to
the summer program, she still is ther with Claire and Asha.. Her best
buddies, and we moms take the kids to the park afterwards.. Or beach
or our house, or Claire's pool... It has become a circle of friends...

Make-up

Make-up has become a big deal at our house.  Zoe has started getting into Mom's .. despite the fact that Mom set Zoe up wiht her own stash.  Then Zoe spent a day with Andrea's crew.. and they had great colors... 

So this weekend we had to buy some.. 2 hours after being with her friend Claire, they had pretty much taken care all of the makeup.. smearing it all over her white bed;  Claire reported: "Zoe and I do not like white"  (Zoe's bed is white).  

I was a little terse and took the make-up away... telling Zoe she can't have it until she is 14.

Finn also enjoyed the makeup.  I have pictures of he and Zoe coated in mascara... TBP
