update

Zoe is growing so fast... she can now open car doors herself.. can also buckle herself in, but hates it...

She alternates times where she loves her brother, likes to make him laugh, sings songs about him.. asking when he will grow up...and the times when she will do anything to get him upset.. stealing his binky, pushing, shoving, yelling... ahh.. siblings!

She still has a hard time switching to school days, but when I pick her up, she often runs away and chants to her friends: "Let's run away from our moms!" We go to the Elementary next door to play at the play ground nearly every day after school with her friends.. if it is the the three of them: Zoe, Asha and Claire, then they generally play really well.. however this week there always seemed to be someone either at the end of their day or some kind of not so nice words going on.. it seemed like one kid was always upset.. especially when one more kid (Anusha) was added to the group. One day I remember Claire and Anusha announced they were not going to play with Zoe.. she yelled how mad and upset she was across the entire field on the way back to the car. (she was not quiet about it).

Zoe is a fashionista... she seems to have some French sense of dressing.. it lately involves the right belt and a scarf around the neck... fabulous look for her. I need to find more ensembles for her.

cup's underwear

Zoe just called the sleeve for her steamed milk "the cup's underwear", which kept slipping down...

[we were on a visit to Vancouver.. for a conference... on of our traditional stops is a steamed milk with flavoring.. to launch us into the morning or recover from a rainy walk)

Zoe the fashionista

Those of us around Zoe all the time know she is a girl with a sense of style.. and it adamant that her vision be realized. She has lately taken to combining clothes in ways not intended.. like putting a shirt on, but not over your head, pulling the body of the shirt (a short sleeve one) until it overlaps in front and finding something (a hair clip) to put them together (I note that she tried a few things, like a glue stick, some tape, before asking for my help)

today after school, she put on three skirts to make a dress.. one for the top, one in the middle and then the last one in its typical place

letters

It is amazing how just exposure to something teaches... Zoe watched a friend show her daughter the word CAT on our fridge leap frog... Zoe stood at her art spot.. pulled out a sheet of paper and wrote the same thing on paper and showed me, "See mom, CAT"

Then the next morning she grabbed a book from her room, a Dora book that had the colors of the rainbow under flaps. She came in and very carefully and studiously wrote "Red"
