update from San Fran

Well, we made it to San Francisco, staying with our friends Vidya, Amod and Naren (5yrs old)... Zoe and Naren may be starting to bond a bit... Zoe has kind of given him the cold shoulder up to last night.. he tries to hold her hand, sit next to her, she doesn't really want to have any of it.
On the trip we took Cherry Baby and E-EE (the Monkey she borrowed from Nana).. it turns out she is now more in love with E-EE and sleeps with him now. I believe it is due in part to the monkey on Dora.
We took a trip to Target to get DVDs to go with the portable DVD player I bought for the trip... (I know.. I don't like TV babysitting, but Zoe loves Dora and now begs to watch it; she also watches Seseme Street, and with a 6 hour flight; not to mention that Zoe didn't do well on the 30 minute flight because she wanted to walk around and the flight attendent told her no, because the "fasten the seatbelt" light was still on... so I'm glad we got it).. but now.. she is glued to the dvd.

She woke up at 6am .. I tried for an hour to get her back to sleep, then brought her out to the front room to read books, she went straight for the player. I tried to put in Clifford.. she freaked out. Naren came down to share the viewing, but she pushed him away. So much for "bonding" ;)

At Target, Zoe who was very near her nap, screamed and threw a fit.. then we found a Dora book, and she was absorbed in it.. I read that book 5 times for bed last night.

well.. off to try start the day.. perhaps the children's museum in San Jose.

sleepy...

For three nights in a row, Zoe has asked to go get ready for bed... I ask her, do you want to go downstairs (tv room) or go get ready for bed.. she tilts her head and says "shhhh"... her sign for sleeping. I never thought it would work tonight, I mean it was 10 to 8... but it did.. we read about 5 books (a low count for her) and she layed down, nursed a little, and fell asleep.. so sweet.. three nights in a row.. wow!

"I did it": first sentence

Zoe's first sentence is "I did it".. I actually think she's been able to say it for a while.. at least a few months.. but it is now very clear.

We were watching Dora, and at the end they sing "We did it, we did it..." she started saying "I did it, I did it" and now uses it often

new word: ouh-bawl

yes, we are watching the superbowl and zoe's new word is football.. it sounds like "ouh-bawl".. but oh so clearly that. So cute.

She can also say balloon (ie the filled balloons at the grocery store).. it is so cute.
